10 quick and Easy Tips to Save Your Phone Battery life

10 Quick and Easy Tips to Save Your Phone Battery life

One of the biggest and danger problems with smartphones today is battery life. Does your battery often run out before you get home? even after charging it overnight?

Follow these 10 quick and easy tips to save battery life and minimize the number of times you have to charge your phone in one day.

1. Lower the screen brightness  Of course, when you're out in the sunlight, it's almost impossible to lower the screen brightness and still see very well. But once inside, remember to reject it. The brighter your screen, the more battery you use.

2. Use a black wallpaper on an AMOLED screen. When a pixel is white it produces light. Therefore, using a black wallpaper produces less light and saves battery life. I recommend Zedge for wallpapers as well as ringtones and notification sounds.

3. Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, screen rotation, and sync whenever possible. Swipe down from the top of the screen where the notification bar is located to reveal quick settings. Click each quick setting icon to enable or disable it.

4. Use the battery saving location or turn it off completely. Sometimes it is necessary to have the location established with high precision. For example, when you use Maps for driving directions. However, most of the time the battery saving option works very well and high precision is not needed. You'll find this setting on location.

5. Prevent apps from sending notifications. Obviously, there are some notifications you need, like new messages, weather, and possibly news updates. But do you really need notifications every time a new video you like has just been uploaded to YouTube? Turning off not only some of your app's notifications will save on your battery, but it will also save data and RAM. Saving RAM will speed up your phone. And we all know how important it is to save data.

6. To disable unwanted alerts, go to settings and click notifications. That will take you to a list of the apps on your phone, and you can click on an app to enable or disable its notifications.

If your particular phone model doesn't have the notifications option, go to apps. Click the app you want to disable notifications from, then scroll down to notifications. Then you will see an option to disable the notices for that app. Repeat for each application.

7. Set the screen to turn off after 2 minutes or less of activity. Go to Settings> Display and click Sleep to set the amount of time the display will turn off by itself after inactivity. Of course, this means that you will have to re-enter your access code more frequently, but your phone's screen uses more battery power than anything else.

8. Turn off the vibration. Personally, I'm not a fan of keys that vibrate when I type, so turning off vibrations is one of the first things I do. You will find the key vibration in settings> language and input> virtual keyboard. From there, click on your keyboard and then preferences. Scroll down until you see vibrate when you press a key.

9. Turn off the pulse notification light. This is the blinking light to let you know you have a new notification. In settings under the screen you will find an option to toggle the pulse notification light.

10. Kills applications that run in the background. Applications always run in the background; several completely unnecessary in that. There are one of two ways to see which applications are running, depending on the make and model of your phone.

In settings go to apps. From there, scroll to the right (if possible) to run.

Otherwise, you will find a list of the applications currently running in your phone's settings in memory. Click on the application which on  you want to kill. Then click on the three little dots in the upper right corner. This should reveal an option of forced detention.

Only turn apps off if you know what they are doing. For example, Chrome, Gmail, and Let Go are safe to shutdown, but the Android operating system, system user interface, and com.android.smspush should be left alone.

When setting up your phone, press the power button to turn off the screen. This is always a good idea, especially when you are away from home, as it not only saves enough battery power, but also activates the screen lock.
